The Heffington Scholarship is a need-based program that supports graduating high school seniors and graduates of the Cashiers or Highlands communities in North Carolina. Students who are pursuing a postsecondary education full-time and exhibit strong moral character are encouraged to apply.

  • Resident of Jackson or Macon counties, Cashiers or Highlands, North Carolina
  • Graduating seniors or graduates of the NC School of Science and Mathematics, the UNC School of the Arts High School, or an NC registered home school
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree
  • Fulltime student
  • Participation in community service, extracurricular activities, or work
  • Possess a strong moral character and a willingness to learn
  • Demonstrate financial need New Century Scholars will not be considered for this scholarship.
