The Howard L. Freese Scholarship supports the educational goals of graduates of Nitro High School in West Virginia. Recipients are chosen for loyalty, high moral standards, academic achievement, athleticism, and community involvement. Students studying biotechnology, engineering, information sciences, or natural sciences at Columbia College, Marshall University, or West Virginia University are encouraged to apply.
