The Hugh M. Tomberlin Scholarship (Education) supports students at Western Carolina University. Students studying in the College of Education and Allied Professions who demonstrate academic achievement are welcome to apply, particularly students from Yancey County, then Rockingham County, followed by graduates of Asheville High School, Asheville, North Carolina, or other western North Carolina counties, as well as students who demonstrate community service and financial need.

  • Studying within the College of Education and Allied Professions Preference is given to students from Yancey County, NC, followed by Rockingham County, NC, Asheville High School graduates in NC, and other western North Carolina counties excluding Buncombe County; students with community service involvement and demonstrated financial need.
