The I EMPOWER Scholarship provides financial assistance to African American residents of the service area of the Greater Washington Urban League (GWUL) who are attending or planning to attend college in any state.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Graduating high school senior or current undergraduate at a 4year college or university.
  • Resident of the GWUL service area (Washington, D.C. and the Maryland counties of Prince George's and Montgomery).
  • Seeking a bachelor's degree.
  • Black/African American, African, AfroCaribbean, and/or Afro-Latino.
  • Participate in community service.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
