Requirements
  • This program is open to permanent residents of Illinois who are high school seniors, GED graduates, or college students enrolled or planning to enroll full time in an accredited program in the food service and hospitality industry in any state.
  • Applicants must submit 3 essays: 1) the experience or individual that influenced them to prepare for a career in the food service or hospitality industry; 2) their career goal in the restaurant or food service industry; and 3) how receiving this scholarship will affect their ability to further their education and career in the food service and hospitality industry.
  • Selection is based on the essays, presentation of the application (spelling, grammar, etc.), industryrelated work experience (both paid and volunteer), honors and achievements, transcripts, and letters of recommendation.
