The Illinois Veteran Grant is available to members of the Armed Services who served at least one year of federal active duty service. Members who have been honorably discharged or are still serving, and who are pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree from a public institution in Illinois are eligible to apply.

Requirements
  • Member of the U.S. Armed Forces and served at least one year of federal active duty service or served in a foreign country during a time of hostilities in that country and were honorably discharged
  • Resident of Illinois
  • Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree
  • Attending an Illinois insitution or a student at an Illinois public college at the time of entering federal active duty service
  • Not be in default on any student loan, nor owe a refund on any state or federal grant
