The Independent Living Act (Foster Care tuition Waiver) is available to Oklahoma students who have been in the Department of Human Services' custody. Students at an eligible Oklahoma public college, university, or technology center are eligible to apply.

  • High school senior, undergraduate student, or not currently enrolled
  • Graduated from an eligible high school or a GED recipient within the previous 3 years
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree
  • Attending or planning to attend school in Oklahoma
  • Aged 26 or younger
  • Have been in Oklahoma DHS custody for at least 9 months between ages 16 and 18
