Requirements
  • This program is open to students, regardless of gender, enrolled or planning to enroll at a college, university, or community college in Iowa.
  • Applicants must be preparing for a career in a field of natural resources, including wildlife, fisheries, environmental management, forest resources, nongame specialists, environmental education, conservation law enforcement, or related fields.
  • They must be working on or planning to work on a conservation project and submit a personal essay that covers their education and career goals, personal philosophy on how individuals can make positive impacts that affect the environment and natural resources, and employment and volunteer experience.
  • Selection is based on the essay (50%) and the project's relationship to conservation, application to science and natural resources, completeness of description, expected outcome, and feasibility of implementation (50%).
