The James A. Fortmann Scholarship program is open to seniors who will graduate from a high school in Arizona and seek a degree in commercial art, fine art, art education, or art history at a college or university in Arizona. Students preparing for a career in art or art education are welcome to apply. Applicants graduating from high schools in the Verde Valley (Sedona, Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Camp Verde) or northern Arizona (Flagstaff and the surrounding area) receive special consideration.

Requirements

Minimum 2.5 GPA

Graduating senior from a high school in Arizona

Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree in commercial art, fine art, art education, or art history

Attending a college, university, or art school in Arizona as a fulltime student

U.S. citizen

Demonstrate financial need Preference is given to students graduating from high schools in the Verde Valley (Sedona, Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Camp Verde) or northern Arizona (Flagstaff and the surrounding area).
