The James Long and Elizabeth Whitener Long Scholarship for Education and Psychology is awarded to incoming full-time freshman who graduated from Watauga High School in Boone, North Carolina, who are planning to attend Appalachian State University. Students intending to study education or psychology who demonstrate financial need are encouraged to apply.
