The Jeptha Wade Schureman Scholarship Program is offered to graduating high school seniors or college students who wish to pursue a degree in law, nursing, medicine, or dentistry at one of the 15 eligible public universities in Michigan. Applicants who are fatherless either through death or by permanent termination of parental rights are eligible to apply. Special consideration is given to students between the ages of 17 to 27 who were residents of Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, or Wayne counties during the four years they attended high school.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3.00 GPA
  • Resident of Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, or Wayne counties, Michigan
  • Attending or planning to attend one of 15 public universities in Michigan
  • Graduating high school senior or college student
  • Studying in law, nursing, medicine, or dentistry
  • Fulltime student
  • Participation in community service, extracurricular activities, leadership, or work
  • Exhibit good character
  • Fatherless through death or by permanent termination of parental rights
  • Demonstrate financial need Employees of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan and their dependents, and members of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan Board of Trustees and their dependents, are not eligible to apply. Preference is given to students between the ages of 17 to 27 who were residents of Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, or Wayne counties during the four years they attended high school.
