The John S. McConnell Endowed Memorial Scholarship is available to undergraduate students at the University of Central Florida. Students seeking a bachelor's degree are eligible to apply. Special consideration is given to students who have held leadership roles and experience in working with service dogs.

  • Exhibit leadership in campus organizations, student government, campus offices, honors organizations, or other UCFrelated experiences, or serve the local community Preference is given to students who have held leadership roles with Volunteer UCF in animal awareness or advocacy, as well as to students who have trained or supported service dogs through the Service-Dog Training and Education Program (STEP), a UCF student organization committed to teaching members about puppy care and training while educating the student body and general public about disabilities and the help that service dogs provide, or through a similar UCF-affiliated organization.
