John Wayne Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance for college to members of the National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) who have made outstanding contributions to agriculture and the Hereford industry.

Requirements
  • This program is open to NJHA members who are children of current paid members of National Hereford Women or the American Hereford Association.
  • Applicants must be enrolled fulltime in college and preparing for a career in agriculture, home economics, or a field directly related to the Hereford industry.
  • Selection is based on the essay, participation in state Junior Hereford Association activities, number of years they have shown Hereford cattle, participation in other (4H, FCCLA, FFA) activities, and participation in other community and religious activities.
  • Financial need is not considered.
