Kansas Horse Council Foundation Scholarship provides financial assistance to members of the Kansas Horse Council who are interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to Kansas Horse Council members who are graduating high school seniors or students already enrolled at an accredited college, university, or trade school in any state.
  • Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and a record of involvement in the horse industry (e.g., Pony Club, FFA, rodeo, 4H).
  • They must also submit another essay, also of 250 to 500 words, on a topic that changes annually; recently, students were asked for their opinion of the biggest challenge facing horse owners.
  • Selection is based on the 10year view essay (20%), the annual essay (20%), involvement in the horse industry (25%), academic awards (10%), extracurricular activities (10%), community service (10%), and memberships (5%).
