Kansas Horse Council Foundation Scholarship provides financial assistance to members of the Kansas Horse Council who are interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to Kansas Horse Council members who are graduating high school seniors or students already enrolled at an accredited college, university, or trade school in any state.

Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and a record of involvement in the horse industry (e.g., Pony Club, FFA, rodeo, 4H).

They must also submit another essay, also of 250 to 500 words, on a topic that changes annually; recently, students were asked for their opinion of the biggest challenge facing horse owners.

Selection is based on the 10year view essay (20%), the annual essay (20%), involvement in the horse industry (25%), academic awards (10%), extracurricular activities (10%), community service (10%), and memberships (5%).
