Kate Scott, DVM, Animal Welfare Scholarship provides financial assistance for college to high school seniors who compete in the National High School Rodeo Association's (NHSRA) national rodeo and who are interested in majoring in a field related to animal welfare.

Requirements
  • This program is open to high school seniors who have qualified for the NHSRA finals by first winning in their state rodeo and then presenting a scholarship application in person before the national rodeo.
  • Applicants must be planning to major in veterinary medicine, animal science, agricultural education, or animal law/lobbying.
  • In addition, applicants must appear before an interview committee during the national rodeo.
  • They are asked to answer questions on estimated school expenses, where they want to be in 5 years, their need for this scholarship, and other related topics.
