Kenny Almeda Scholarship provides financial assistance to Catholic high school seniors in San Diego County, California who are of Portuguese descent and interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to seniors graduating from Catholic high schools in San Diego County (or Point Loma High School) who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and are of Portuguese descent.
  • Applicants must be planning to enroll at a 4year college or university in any state.
  • They must have completed at least 30 hours of community service with United Portuguese S.E.S. (U.P.S.E.S) during their senior year in high school.
  • Selection is based on that essay, academic merit, involvement in the Portuguese community of San Diego, community service, their activity record, leadership, and character.
