Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority Teacher Scholarship provides scholarships/loans to Kentucky high school seniors, high school graduates, college students, and graduate students who are interested in preparing for a career as a teacher.

Requirements
  • This program is open to U.S. citizens who are Kentucky residents enrolled or accepted for enrollment as full-time students (unless they are enrolled for their final term and less than full-time enrollment is required to complete the program) at an eligible Kentucky institution of higher education.
  • They must be studying in an undergraduate or graduate program of teacher education which is preparatory to initial teacher certification but does not lead to a certificate, diploma, or degree in theology, divinity, or religious education.
  • Financial need must be demonstrated.
  • Awards are granted according to the following priorities: 1) prior recipients applying for renewal; 2) teachers who are eligible for the "Best in Class" program administered by the Kentucky Higher Education Student Loan Corporation; 3) highly qualified applicants who have been unconditionally admitted to a teacher education program by their college, ranked in ascending order by Expected Family Contribution (EFC); 4) highly qualified applicants who have not yet been admitted to a teacher education program but who meet the standards and requirements for admission, ranked in ascending order by EFC; and 5) otherwise eligible applicants seeking admission to a teacher education program, ranked in ascending order by EFC.
