About the Scholarship

The Korty and Morton Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of downstate Illinois who identify as LGBTQIA+, allies, or children of LGBTQIA+ parents attending or planning to attend a postsecondary institution. Students who participate in volunteerism and community advocacy are encouraged to apply. Recipients are chosen for their demonstration of financial need.

  • Resident of Illinois (all counties except Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will)

  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree
  • LGBTQIA+, allies, or children of LGBTQIA+ parents
  • Participation in community service or extracurricular activities
