The Lena Mayberry Engstrom Scholarship supports undergraduate students attending Western Carolina University. Students studying English education who demonstrate academic achievement and are from Rutherford County, North Carolina, are welcome to apply, particularly graduates of RS Central High School, Rutherfordton, North Carolina, and full-time students. If no qualifying candidates are available, students from other North Carolina counties or those pursuing middle grades or other secondary education may be considered.
