Leo A. Seigel-Dr. Philip Shapiro Education Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors in New Jersey who are descendants of members of the Jewish War Veterans (JWV) of the U.S.A and planning to attend college in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to seniors graduating from public or private high schools in New Jersey and planning to attend an accredited college.

university, community college, or hospital school of nursing in any state.

Applicants must be the child, grandchild, or greatgrandchild of a veteran who has been a JWV member for at least 3 consecutive years or, if deceased, was a member at the time of death.

They must rank in the top 25% of their class.

Selection is based on class standing, SAT or ACT scores, GPA, and participation in extracurricular activities (school, Jewish community, and community at large).
