The L.L. Nurmi Nelson Memorial Scholarship is available to senior students from Lakeland High School in Lakeland, Florida, who participate in church activies, community service, as well as lettering in a sport. Students seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree are eligible to apply. Special consideration is given to students who have lettered in football, but other sports, including baseball, basketball, track, or cheerleading, can be taken into consideration.
