Lonnie Michael, III Endowed Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of northern California who have a connection to the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA) and are interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of northern California (Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, and Trinity counties) who are SMACNA member contractors, employees of SMACNA member contractors, SMACNA chapter executives, national SMACNA employees, SMACNA associate members, or immediate relatives of all those groups.
  • Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll fulltime at an accredited 4-year college or university in the United States.
  • They may be majoring in any field, but preference is given to students preparing for a career in the sheet metal industry.
  • Selection is based on that essay, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community involvement, leadership ability, and character.
  • Financial need is not considered in the selection process.
