Louise Eleanor Ross Kleinhenz Scholarship provides financial assistance to mature women in Indiana who wish to study journalism in order to reenter the job market or to seek better paying jobs.

Requirements

This program is open to mature (at least 30 years of age) Indiana women who are interested in upgrading their skills in college or university courses or workshops in order to reenter the journalism job market or to upgrade positions in that field.

Applicants may be interested in taking a course or workshop for credit or noncredit; the course or workshop must relate to improving the applicant's skills in 1 of the following categories: 1) newspaper (including editorial, advertising, or promotion); 2) magazine (including writing, editing, photography, graphics layout, or advertising); 3) public relations or advertising (including copywriting or graphics for brochures, news releases, radio/TV public service announcements, campaign planning, or promotions); 4) commercial or public radio or television (including news, continuity, advertising, or promotion); 5) journalism-related website and/or social media; or 6) journalism education.

Coursework in English, typing, computers, speech, theater, history or other related fields is not eligible.
