Lowell H. and Dorothy Loving Undergraduate Scholarship provides financial assistance to upper-division student members of the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) who are studying surveying.

Requirements
  • This program is open to NSPS members who are full- or part-time juniors or seniors at a 4-year college or university in the United States.
  • Applicants must be working on a degree in surveying; their program of study must include courses from at least 2 of the following areas: land surveying; geometric geodesy; photogrammetry and remote sensing; or analysis and design of spatial measurement systems.
  • Additional coursework that is desirable but not required includes theory and applications of geographic information systems, cartography, digital image processing, spatial modeling and analysis, and spatial statistics.
  • Selection is based on that statement (30%), academic record (30%), letters of recommendation (20%), and professional activities (20%); if 2 or more applicants are judged equal based on those criteria, financial need may be considered.
