Major General Duane L. "Duke" Corning Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to current and retired members of the South Dakota National Guard Enlisted Association (SDNGEA), the National Guard Association of South Dakota (NGASD), or their dependents who are interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to current and retired members of the SDNGEA and the NGASD and the dependents of current and retired members of those associations.
  • Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or fulltime undergraduate students at a college or university in any state.
  • They must submit a 300page autobiography that includes their experiences to date and their hopes and plans for the future.
  • Selection is based on the essay; awards, honors, and offices in high school, college, or trade school; GPA and ACT/SAT scores; letters of recommendation; and extracurricular and community activities and honors.
