About the Scholarship

The Makuakāne Inspirational Educator Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a career in education or the Hawaiian language. Students who reside in Hawaii and attend a school in the state are encouraged to apply. Students with prior teaching experience in Hawaiian language schools/programs receive special consideration. It is also the policy of the Foundation to give preference to students of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.
