Requirements
  • This program is open to high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who are of Maltese descent and reside in northern California.
  • As part of their application, students must provide proof of their Maltese descent; a list of honors and awards they have received; a description of their community service, extracurricular activities, and/or work experience; a statement of their future academic goals and objectives; and a 500word essay on 1 of the following topics: 1) an aspect of current and foreign affairs, as related to Malta, including background and where it stands now; 2) an interview of a Maltese immigrant, including their memories of Malta, adjusting to American culture, and comparing Maltese and American culture, education, cuisine, family life, and recreation; or 3) the origin, influences, and evolution of the Maltese language.
