The Marilyn Lester and William Lester Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors of Asheville High School in Asheville, North Carolina. Recipients are chosen for their demonstrated academic achievement, commendable character, and participation in extracurricular activities. Students who are pursuing a bachelor's degree full-time at a program-approved university are welcome to apply.

Planning to attend Appalachian State University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, North Carolina Central University, North Carolina State University, University of North Carolina at Asheville, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, University of North Carolina at Wilmington, or Western Carolina University

Participation in community service, extracurricular activities, or work

Exhibit strong moral character

Demonstrate financial need
