Mario Lomeli Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors in southern California who have participated in theater and plan to major or minor in that field at a college in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to seniors graduating from high schools in southern California who have been involved in their school's theater department activities during their junior and senior years, including participation in at least 1 fall or spring Festival of the Drama Teachers Association of Southern California (DTASC) and 1 Southern Region Festival of the California Educational Theatre Association (CETA).

Applicants must have declared a major or minor in theater arts for their freshman year at a college, university, or conservatory in any state.

They must participate in auditions that involve 2 monologues (1 contemporary and 1 classical) up to 5 minutes in length.

During their junior and senior years of high school, they must have successfully completed all classes with no grade lower than a "C."
