Michigan Pork Industry Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of Michigan interested in attending college in any state to prepare for a career in the pork industry.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of Michigan who are high school seniors or freshmen, sophomores, or juniors at a 4-year college or university in any state.
  • Applicants and their families are not required to be members of the Michigan Pork Producers Association (MPPA) or be actively involved in pork production, but they should have a demonstrated interest in the future of the pork industry.
  • Finalists present a speech of 5 to 10 minutes at the MPPA Green and White Show on a facet of the pork industry; selection is based on those speeches.
  • Recipients may also be asked to 1) be involved as members of an MPPA planning committee; 2) be available to attend legislative conferences, trade shows, or conventions; or 3) be goodwill ambassadors for the pork industry to youth groups, special interest organizations, and the general public.
