Mid-East Dairy Herd Improvement Association Scholarship provides financial assistance to members of 4-H in Maryland, especially those with ties to the Mid-East Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA) who have participated in 4-H dairy projects and are interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to 1) high school seniors who are currently enrolled in Maryland 4-H members and have completed at least 2 years of membership; and 2) Maryland 4-H alumni who have been members for at least 2 years prior to graduating from high school.
  • Applicants must have participated in the 4H dairy project and be preparing for a career that directly or indirectly supports the dairy industry.
  • Preference is given to applicants whose families are members of MidEast DHIA. Along with their application, they must submit 1) information on their need for financial assistance; 2) a 1-page essay on how 4-H has impacted their career path and how they plan to give back to the 4-H program; and 3) a 300-word essay on their career and/or personal goals and how those goals will benefit the dairy industry.
