The Miguel Cabrera Family Scholarship is offered to high school graduates from Florida and Michigan. First-generation college students, or historically underrepresented students pursuing a degree in the U.S. or Puerto Rico are encouraged to apply. Special consideration is given to students from Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Wayne, and Washtenaw counties in Michigan, or Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties in Florida. Employees and their dependents of the Detroit Tigers Foundation, employees/dependents and directors of the Miguel Cabrera Foundation, dependents of Miguel and Rosangel Cabrera, and lineal descendants of Miguel and Rosangel Cabrera's grandparents as well as employees and their dependents of the foundation are ineligible for this scholarship.

  • Minimum 2.50 GPA

  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree fulltime
  • Attending a college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico
  • Historically underserved population OR Firstgeneration college student
  • Demonstrate good academic achievement Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need from Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Wayne, or Washtenaw counties in Michigan, or Broward, MiamiDade, or Palm Beach counties in Florida.
