The Military Enhanced Recognition Incentive and Tribute - MERIT Scholarship is available to U.S. Armed Services veterans who became severely and permanently disabled, or the child, spouse, or dependent of a veteran who either died or was severely disabled who were New York residents at the time of service. Students pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree at a New York public institution are welcome to apply.
