Requirements
  • This program is open to students currently enrolled as juniors at public, private, and parochial high schools and home study programs in Minnesota.
  • Applicants must be planning to attend a college, university, or vocational school in any state following graduation from high school.
  • They must submit an essay, from 450 to 500 words, on a topic that changes annually but relates to the township form of government in Minnesota, its place and purpose in local government, and the involvement of citizens in grassroots government.
  • Financial need is not considered in the selection process.
