Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of a city or community in Iowa with a population smaller than 10,000.
  • Applicants must be high school seniors planning to enroll or undergraduates already enrolled at an accredited 2 or 4-year college or university in the state and major in journalism.
  • They must be preparing for a career in the newspaper industry in Iowa.
  • Selection is based on academic record, demonstrated talent, and desire to work for an Iowa newspaper; some consideration is also given to financial need.
