Mrs. Kay Kazuko Furuta Sakaguchi Scholarship provides financial assistance to members of the San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center (SFVJACC) who are interested in attending college in any state to prepare for a career in the visual and/or performing arts.

Requirements
  • This program is open to high school seniors and students currently enrolled at a college or university in any state whose family has been a member of the SFVJACC for at least 1 year.
  • Applications include information on academic honors, extracurricular activities, community involvement, work history, Japanese cultural activities, a video of their visual or performing art, and a video of 2 to 5 minutes about themselves and their vision for the future of the SFVJACC. Selection is based on excellence in scholarship, artistry, leadership, and service.
