About the Scholarship

The Needler Family Scholarship program is available to current employees of Fresh Encounter and its subsidiaries and to children and blood-related grandchildren of employees of Fresh Encounter and its subsidiaries. Students who have participated in church, school activities, and community service are encouraged to apply. Special consideration may be given to an applicant planning to major in agriculture, agribusiness, food service management, business, wholesale or retail business, or the independent grocery business. Students who receive full scholarship support from other organizations are not eligible to apply.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Employee of Fresh Encounter or one of its subsidiaries for at least 2 years OR
  • Child of an employee of Fresh Encounter or one of its subsidiaries for at least 5 years OR
  • Bloodrelated grandchild of a current employee who has worked for Fresh Encounter or one of its subsidiaries for at least 5 years
  • Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree
  • U.S. citizen
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, community service, or church activities
  • Demonstrate good school attendance, hard work, good citizenship, dependability and character, and a desire to complete higher education Preference may be given to an applicant planning to major in agriculture, agribusiness, food service management, business, wholesale or retail business, or the independent grocery business.
