The NELA Scholarship offers financial assistance to members of the Northeastern Loggers' Association (NELA), as well as their immediate families and the employees and immediate families of Industrial and Associate Members. Essays are evaluated, and winners are chosen based on the quality of the writing and the student's academic performance.
