NELA Scholarship provides financial assistance to members of the Northeastern Loggers' Association (NELA) and their families who are interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to 1) graduating high school seniors; 2) students in 2-year associate degree or technical school programs; and 3) students in 4-year baccalaureate programs.
  • Applicants must be members or the immediate family of members of the association or immediate family of employees of industrial and associate members of the association.
  • Selection is based primarily on a 1,000word essay, a captioned photo-essay, a 7-minute audio essay, or a 7-minute video essay.
  • The topic changes annually; recently, students were asked to write on "Why the Forest Products Industry is Important to Us All." Financial need is not considered.
