The Nell Mitchell Scholarship is open to residents of Kansas City metro area students who are taking classes in the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) program at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) in Kansas. Students planning to transfer to earn a degree in physical education are encouraged to apply.

Resident of Johnson, Leavenworth, Linn, Miami, or Wyandotte counties in Kansas or Bates, Caldwell, Cass, Clay, Clinton, Jackson, Lafayette, Platte, or Ray counties in Missouri

Current college student

Seeking an associate degree in the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation classes (HPER )program

Enrolled at Johnson County Community College as a fulltime or part-time student
