New York Recruitment Incentive and Retention Scholarship provides financial assistance to members of the New York State Military Forces who are interested in attending college in the state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to members of the New York Army National Guard, New York Air National Guard, and New York Naval Militia in good military and academic standing.
  • Applicants must have been enrolled in a degree program for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester, have been legal residents of New York for at least 186 days prior to using the program for the first time and 186 days per year (excluding periods of active federal service), and be enrolled in their first baccalaureate degree program.
  • They must have completed Initial Active Duty for Training (IADT), naval enlisted code (NEC) training, or a commissioning program.
