The Nick Van Pernis Scholarship is for graduates of a public or private high school in the districts of Kau, North Kona, North Kohala, South Kohala, or South Kona on Hawai'i Island. Hawai'i residents planning to pursue a degree in marine sciences, biotechnology, health sciences, or early childhood education, and who demonstrate financial need, are encouraged to apply.

  • Studying biotechnology, early childhood education, health sciences, or marine sciences
  • Attending school in the U.S.
  • Participation in community service
  • Demonstrate financial need Preference for recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year.
