NIRA Tip of the Hat Scholarship provides financial assistance for college to high school seniors who compete in the National High School Rodeo Association's (NHSRA) national rodeo and demonstrate excellence in all areas of rodeo and student life.

Requirements
  • This program is open to high school seniors who have qualified for the NHSRA finals by winning, first, in their state rodeos and then presenting a scholarship application in person prior to the national rodeo.
  • In addition, applicants must appear before an interview committee during the national rodeo.
  • They are asked to answer questions on estimated school expenses, where they want to be in 5 years, their need for this scholarship, and other related topics.
  • Selection is based on performance in all areas of rodeo and student life.
  • Boys and girls are judged separately for these scholarships.
