Northern Cheyenne Job Training and Placement Scholarship provides financial assistance to Northern Cheyenne tribal members and other American Indians residing on the Northern Cheyenne reservation who are interested in vocational training.

Requirements
  • This program is open to 1) enrolled members of the Northern Cheyenne tribe who reside on or near the reservation; 2) enrolled Northern Cheyenne tribal members who reside outside the service area, provided funding is not available from other tribal or Bureau of Indian Affairs job training and placement programs; and 3) enrolled members of other Indian tribes residing on the Northern Cheyenne reservation, provided they have applied to their home agency and been denied.
  • Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited institution in any state that provides vocational training.
  • Awards are made according to the following priorities: 1) renewal of grants to continuing students in good standing; 2) new applicants who have enrolled Northern Cheyenne residing on or near the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation; 3) enrolled Northern Cheyenne new applicants who reside outside the service area of the reservation; 4) other Indian enrolled tribal members residing on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation; 5) individuals requesting retraining; and 6) individuals who need shortterm training to enhance their employment or increase their job skills (if funds are still available).
