The Northern Virginia First Responders Scholarship is open to residents of Northern Virginia. Students must have ties to their local police, fire, or EMT department as a professional, active volunteer, or dependent of a professional or active volunteer. High school seniors who are "active volunteer" first responders receive special consideration.

Requirements

Minimum 3.50 GPA

Resident of Arlington, Fauquier, Loudoun, Orange, or Prince William counties, Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas, or Manassas Park, Virginia

Graduating seniors who are professional or volunteer first responders, active volunteers with a local police, fire, or EMT department for at least one year, **OR** dependents of professional **OR** volunteer first responders

Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree

Participation in extracurricular activities

Demonstrate financial need Preference is given to high school seniors who are "active volunteer" first responders.
