Northwest Journalists of Color Reporting Scholarship provides financial assistance to students from Washington state who demonstrate a commitment to the importance of diverse cultural backgrounds and are interested in careers in journalism.

Requirements
  • This program is open to students who are 1) current high school juniors or seniors in Washington; 2) residents of any state attending a 2- or 4-year college, university, or vocational school in Washington; or 3) seniors graduating from Washington high schools and planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college, university, or vocational school in any state.
  • Applicants must be preparing for a career in broadcast, photo, or print journalism.
  • They do not need to identify as a student of color, but strong preference is given to applicants who demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the importance of diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences in newsrooms.
