The NRG Chairman’s Scholarship honors children of NRG Energy employees and their subsidiaries. This scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors and graduates entering college for the first time to seek a bachelor's degree at a 4-year institution. Applicants will be reviewed for both academic success and non-academic achievements while adhering to NRG’s core values.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Child of an active employee in good standing of NRG Energy, Inc., or of a whollyowned subsidiary of NRG (employees must have a minimum of one-year tenure at NRG)
  • Graduating high school senior or graduate preparing to enter college for the first time
  • Seeking a bachelor's degree at a 4year institution as a full-time student
  • Successful in nonacademic achievements while adhering to NRG’s core values Children of NRG employees who are Senior Vice Presidents or above at the time of award are not eligible. Applicant cannot have an immediate family member (sibling, half-sibling) who has previously been awarded a Chairman’s Scholarship. Only one scholarship per family.
