Requirements
  • This competition is open to members of the Orange County Colony of Mayflower Descendants who are graduating high school seniors or undergraduate or graduate students at a college or university in any state.
  • Applicants must submit an essay, up to 750 words in length, on a topic that changes annually but relates to the history of Plymouth.
  • Recently, students were asked to write about the relations between the Pilgrims and the local Native Americans.
  • Selection is based on content, organization, style, references, and grammar.
