Plains Anthropological Society Native American Student Scholarship provides financial assistance to Native Americans working on an undergraduate or graduate degree in anthropology or archaeology at a college in the Great Plains area of the United States or Canada.

Requirements
  • This program is open to Native American students currently enrolled full-time at a 4-year college or university and working on an undergraduate or graduate degree in anthropology or archaeology.
  • Undergraduates may be attending a college or university in the United States or Canada that provides course work or research covering the Great Plains area of the United States (all or part of the states of Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, or Wyoming) or Canada (all or part of the provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, or Saskatchewan).
  • Graduate students must be conducting research that relates to an aspect of the Great Plains, but they do not need to be attending a university located in that region.
  • All applicants must submit documentation of tribal enrollment, a letter of recommendation from a faculty member focusing on their accomplishments or potential in the field of anthropology, and a letter of interest outlining their prior experience and future goals in studying anthropology.
