About the Scholarship

The Postsecondary Educational Gratuity Program (PEGP) is available to Pennsylvania undergraduate students. Students must be the child of a qualifying public safety officer or a U.S. Armed Forces military service member who died as a direct result of official duties. Students at a Pennsylvania community college, state-owned institution, or state-related institution pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree are eligible to apply.

Requirements
  • Child by birth or adoption of a deceased active National Guard member (died after Jan. 1, 1976) or qualifying U.S.Armed Service military member who died while on federal/state active duty (died after Sept. 11, 2001) **OR**
  • Child of a deceased police officer, firefighter, rescue/ambulance squad member, corrections facility employee, sheriff, or deputy sheriff
  • Resident of Pennsylvania
  • Undergraduate student
  • Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree
  • Attending a Pennsylvania community college, stateowned institution, or state-related institution
