The Powers Scholarship for Avery County Schools is awarded to graduating seniors of Avery County, North Carolina from a public high school, a home school, or the NC School of Science and Mathematics. Students who are seeking a bachelor's degree on a full-time basis in an engineering or technical field are encouraged to apply. Special consideration is given to students who demonstrate financial need and to male and female students in alternating years.
